PEACE ORPHANAGE MINISTRY UGANDA RESPONDS TO WAMALA AND WABIGALO PEOPLE COAST DESTRUCTION OF FLOODS.

​

We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our partners are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it.

Mityana wabigalo blasted East Africa, leaving more than 40 people dead and thousands of homes flooded and without power. Attention is focused at Peace Orphanage Ministry Uganda on  as well as the recovery in the Uganda Africa 

The saved its heaviest rainfall for the People in Uganda. But communities all along the Eastern Seaboard experienced damaging floods and storm surge.

Peace Orphanage Ministry Uganda quickly dispatched semi truckloads of relief supplies to East Africa and Southern people . Pre-positioned goods went to evacuated families in wamala

“We want these supplies to provide tangible help to churches serving local families in need and to communicate our support and solidarity with them as they rebuild,” says PEACE BENSON. Peace Orphanage Ministry Uganda's director of domestic disaster response.

Churches and partner organizations are calling for more supplies in wabigalo and wamala Cleaning supplies, mosquito nets, tarps, gloves, toys, and hygiene items are still needed.

CHRISTIAN FAITH

 

Christian Faith

Our Christian faith is central to who we are. We follow Jesus’ example by being an active, visible, tangible expression of God’s love as we work alongside the poor and oppressed. Our faith calls us to serve children in need—of any faith, or none. We partner with faith leaders throughout the world, equipping them to use their influence to make their communities safer for children.

PARTNER WITH US AND FIND A WAY WE CAN HELP                  THE VULNERABLE CHILDREN

Jesus calls his followers to become like children to enter the kingdom of heaven. But what does it look like to welcome children as Jesus commanded? This how we support childre's n faith and not become stumbling blocks in our homes, churches, communities, and around the world?

Peace Orphanage Ministry Uganda has exprenced 10years working to reduce material poverty goes hand in hand with our work to overcome spiritual poverty. Children cannot truly experience fullness of life unless they have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of God’s love. But we also cannot expect children to experience God’s love if they are hungry, sick, or exploited,we have  woven into the fabric of all of our work. Through all we do — drilling wells, offering innovative agricultural training, providing microloans, preventing child labor, responding to disasters — we are following Jesus in showing unconditional love to the poor and oppressed. We serve every child we can, regardless of their faith, and are sensitive to the diverse contexts in which we work. Peace Orphanage Ministry Uganda supports children’s faith and helps them experience the love of God through five main areas.

1. At home and school — We equip parents and caregivers to provide a safe and caring environment.

A family home should be a nurturing place, but typically it is where a child is first exposed to violence,1.2 of the 2.2 billion children in the world experience violence every year in their homes, schools, or communities. It is hard to experience God’s love if the primary caregivers in your life do not show you love.

That’s why we equip parents, caregivers, and teachers to provide a safe and caring environment for children’s spiritual growth that reflects Christian values.

From 2010 to 2021, Peace Orphanage Ministry Uganda trained 1345* parents in positive discipline and also engaged 263 community members in attitude change sessions to help transform cultural norms of violence against children. In addition, 212,205 children and youth participated in Peace Orphanage Ministry Uganda programs to end violence against children.
